Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 August 2026

TeamsMemes ("we", "us") lets you create fake Microsoft Teams chat screenshots for fun. This page explains what data is collected when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it.

TeamsMemes is a trading name of Yeftech Ltd (company number 17279628), registered in England and Wales. Yeftech Ltd is the data controller responsible for the information described below, and the trader you are buying from if you purchase a download.

The chats you create

TeamsMemes doesn't require an account. The messages, participant names and any avatar images you add on the create page are rendered entirely in your browser and turned into an image on your own device. We don't receive, store, or have any way of seeing the chats you make.

There is one exception, and it stays on your device. If you buy a full size download, your chat is saved into your browser's session storage just before you are sent to our payment provider, so that it can be rebuilt for you when you come back. It is deleted as soon as your download runs, and in any case when you close the tab. It is never uploaded to us.

Payments

Creating and downloading a watermarked chat is free. If you want a clean, full size version you can buy one, and the payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page - they never touch TeamsMemes, and we never see or store them.

To take the payment, Stripe collects your card details, name, email address and billing country, and uses them to process the payment and to detect fraud. As the merchant, we can see a limited version of that in our Stripe dashboard: your name, email address, billing country, the card brand and last four digits, and the amount paid.

We use that information only to provide the download you paid for, to answer you if you email us about a purchase, to handle refunds and disputes, and to keep the accounting records we are legally required to keep. We do not create an account for you, we do not send you marketing, and we do not sell or share it with anyone else. Stripe also acts as a controller of your payment data in its own right - see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We only use analytics if you agree to it. The first time you visit we ask, nothing analytics-related loads unless you choose Accept, and if you choose Reject no analytics cookies are set at all. You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.

If you do accept, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages and buttons get used, so we know what's worth improving. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

When you buy a full size download we also send Google Analytics a purchase event containing the amount, the currency and the Stripe checkout reference for the transaction. We do not send Google your name, your email address or any card details. If you later withdraw your consent we switch Google Analytics off and delete its cookies. You can also block it across every site you visit using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

TeamsMemes does not run any third party advertising network. There are no ad units and no advertising trackers on the site.

Cookies and browser storage

Some of what the site stores on your device is strictly necessary to do the thing you asked it to do, and some of it is analytics.

Necessary storage, which we set no matter what:

  • A copy of the chat you were building, saved in session storage only while you are being sent to Stripe and back, so your work isn't lost. Cleared once your download runs or when you close the tab.
  • The reference for a purchase you have made, kept in local storage so the site can check with Stripe that you paid and let you download again in the same browser without paying twice. It stays until you clear your browsing data.
  • Your answer to the analytics question above, kept in local storage so we don't ask again on every page. Clearing it simply means we ask you once more.

Neither of these is ever transmitted to us, and neither is used to track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics for the purposes described above. If you go through checkout, Stripe will also set its own cookies on its own checkout page, including for fraud prevention.

There are no user accounts or logins on TeamsMemes, and we don't use cookies to build a profile of you. The purchase reference described above is the only stored value that could be linked back to you personally, and only by matching it against our payment records.

Why we are allowed to do this

Payment information is processed because it is necessary to perform the contract you entered into when you bought a download, and afterwards because we have a legal obligation to keep accounting records. Necessary browser storage is used because it is required to deliver a service you specifically asked for. Analytics is used only on the basis of your consent, which you give by choosing Accept when we ask, and which you can withdraw at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.

Where your data goes

Stripe and Google are both US-headquartered companies, so information handled by them may be processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Both provide contractual safeguards for those transfers, which are described in their own privacy policies linked above.

How long we keep things

The chats you create are only ever on your device, and are gone when you close the tab. The purchase reference in your browser lasts until you clear your browsing data. Payment records held in Stripe are kept for at least six years, because UK tax and accounting rules require it. Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured on our Google Analytics property, after which Google deletes it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. In practice the only personal data we hold is the payment information described above, so it helps if you email us from the address you used at checkout.

Email teamsmemes.contact@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. Please note we may have to keep transaction records even after a deletion request, where the law requires us to. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children's privacy

TeamsMemes is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
